Assist the Production Team in streamlining the production process.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • Grade 12

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in animal feed manufacturing will be an advantage.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Ensure that products are packed in the correct bags and that the bag tickets correspond with the product.
  • Ensure that a sample of every 10th bag is taken to obtain a representative sample.
  • Ensure that batch reports completely filled in & signed off by the Production Controller with samples to the lab.
  • Reporting of any deviances.
  • Ensure that bags are stitched correctly and report any problems with stitching machines.
  • Ensure that bag weights are not over or under the required weight and report any challenges experienced with the weight scale.
  • Ensure that bags are safely and neatly stacked on clean pallets.
  • Ensure that lucerne and wheat straw are not mixed when it is milled through hay-buster.
  • Check each product per batch to ensure that it does not vary in quality.
  • Control of production through computer software.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and the correct wearing of PPE.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the production process.
  • Knowledge and understanding of production planning.
  • Mechanically oriented.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office).

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES

  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to identify problems in the work area.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Crisis management.
  • Able to work shifts and overtime.
